The interaction between people and computers has increased in the past two decades, but unfortunately, not everyone enjoys the same privilege when it comes to technology. The term "digital divide" is thus coined to refer to the gap between those who have ready access to computers and the Internet, and those who do not. The digital divide may exist within the same country or between different regions of the world. Within many countries, including the industrialized ones, the marginalized members of society, like the poor, rural, elderly, and disabled portion of the population do not have access to computers or the Internet. On an international scale, the digital divide exists mainly between developing and developed countries. It is believed that less developed nations are slow in economic growth because of poor information infrastructure, such as lack of power facilities, restricted Wifi coverage, and slow Internet speeds. However, multiple studies have shown that the digital divide is more than just an access issue and cannot be alleviated merely by providing the necessary equipment. Besides accessibility, individuals need to know how to make use of the information and communication tools. For example, those who are taught to use computers in school attain higher computer skills while those who have not been trained still remain clumsy when using the Internet. Moreover, according to research, the top barrier I penetration in developing countries is relevance. This is because people cannot find content, online services, or mobile applications that they need in their native language, especially in African countries. result, people do not consider the information and communication tools helpful for or relevant to their lives. In summary, the problem of the digital divide signifies a much deeper problem in educational as well as economic development. Before the challenges of low education levels, poor infrastructure development, and low income levels are addressed, the digital divide is not likely to be eliminated
